Information on the Change Management Practitioner Exam
You may find it useful to understand the format and duration of the examination to assist you in your preparation.
The Change Management Practitioner Exam is a scenario-based question paper with one programme scenario and 4 sections each worth 20 marks covering different parts of the syllabus. The examination is open book.
The exam lasts for 180 minutes (3 hours). There is sufficient time to become familiar with the scenario that is provided with the examination paper and to understand the format of the questions.
The examiner is interested in your ability to demonstrate that you can use models, tools and approaches explained in the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner syllabus to deal with the project scenario with which you have been presented. Therefore, your answers will be based on the manual but a good level of understanding of change management will be necessary to enable you to identify the correct answers.

From the Change Management Examination Syllabus: This level is aiming to measure whether a candidate knows how to apply the change management approaches and techniques to the management of change within their organization. To this end they need to exhibit the competence required for the Foundation Change Management qualification, and show that they know how to apply and tailor the approaches and techniques to address the needs and problems of a given change management scenario. To have an idea of the types of Practitioner Exam questions you will be asked we strongly recommend that you download and attempt the sample Practitioner paper supplied by the APMG. The three elements that you will need to download in order to attempt the questions are:

- Sample Practitioner Exam Answer Booklet
- Sample Practitioner Exam Marking Scheme
Section 2 of your pre-course workbook will provide guidance on how and when to attempt each of the questions in the sample paper.
