Negotiation
In our daily language, the word negotiation is often associated with trading and generally with the commercial environment. The word itself derives from the Latin “negotium”, meaning bargaining.
It would be somewhat narrow, however, to limit negotiation to a commercial context.
Negotiating is a natural human act. We learn how to negotiate from childhood and continue to negotiate throughout our lives, with ourselves, our loved ones, neighbours, colleagues, customers and, of course, with stakeholders in our projects and programmes.
